Allan Holcomb
was born and raised in Sperry, Oklahoma. As a child, Allan's
family consisted of 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He attended
Sperry Public Schools grades 1-12. During his school career,
his favorite teachers included Mrs. Ford
and Mrs. Herrington (elementary), Mrs. Sloan (junior high) and
Ms. Cooper, Ms. Daniel and Mr. Brooks (high school).
Allan is a 1960 graduate of Sperry High School.
Following high school graduation, Allan
served for 7 years in the Oklahoma Army National Guard, 45th
Division, attaining the rank of E-4. His college career
included a one year stint at Oklahoma State University followed by three years at the University of Tulsa where he
majored in Chemical Engineering.
In 1966, Allan married his wife Diane
(Redus). Allan and Diane have 3 children, Terry (SHS Class
of '81) of Newport Beach, CA, James (SHS Class of '88) of
Denver, CO and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and
Laurie (SHS Class of '90) of Tulsa, OK and a graduate of the
University of Oklahoma.
Today, Allan is the owner of Tri-Thermal,
Inc. (established in 1978). He continues to be active in his
support of Sperry Schools. His hobbies include golf, fishing
and traveling.
