Roger is one of eight
children born to Jim and Joyce DeMuth of Sperry, OK.
Since graduating from high school, he
has lived in Arkansas for 6 years, Colorado for 18 years
and, for the past 8 years, has been living in Texarkana, TX. He and his wife Janis have been married since 1977
and have 2 daughters, Kristy (Sister Mary Sabina DeMuth)
is in her 5th year as a Dominican Nun and currently
teaching 8th grade in Denver, CO and Shelby is a sophomore
at Pleasant Grove High School.
Roger received his diploma
from Sperry High School in 1973. While at Sperry, he was
named to Who’s Who, Honor Society, class officer,
football captain, FFA officer, won State Livestock Judging
competition, and placed 4th in Shot Put at State Meet.
In 1977, Roger received his
Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Arkansas University. He
paid his way thru college with an athletic scholarship and
working as a Resident Assistant in the Athletic
Dormitory. While in college, he was member of the Conference
Champion Track Team, President of Newman Club, Who’s Who,
Alpha Chi Honorary Fraternity, and received his FFA
American Farmer Degree.
From 1977 thru 1979, Roger
was Vice President of Red River Production Credit
Association in Magnolia, AR. While there, he doubled loan
volume and improved the status of loans from average to
excellent. During the same time period, he was President
of the Parish Council and responsible for construction of
a new Catholic Church.
From 1979 to 1982, Roger
worked for J-W Operating Company as District Administrator
and Construction Superintendent in Wray, CO. He was
responsible for engineering, design and construction of
natural gas compressor stations and pipelines for the
Northern Region. While in Wray, Roger earned his
Private Pilot rating and currently has logged more than
1000 hours of Pilot in Command time.
From 1983 through 1998 he
founded and owned Alpha Energy, Inc. He employed over 200
people while designing and constructing Compressor
Stations and Natural Gas Pipelines in Colorado, Montana,
Utah, Kansas, and Wyoming. During this time he was also
President of the Denver sub-section of Society of
Petroleum Engineers, an Honorary Knight of Columbus, founder
and owner of ReFlow, Inc., founder and owner of EconFlow,
Inc., co-founder and Board Member of Freedom Energy, Inc.
and active teacher in Sunday school at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church.
In 1998, Roger sold all
active interests in business’s in Colorado and moved to
Texarkana, TX where he has been active in: managing his
ranch in Madisonville, TX, consulting and investing in oil
and gas ventures, fundraising for Sperry’s Field of
Dreams, new Catholic School in Greeley, CO, and
fundraising for St. Edward Catholic Church where he is
Chairman of Finance Council and past Parish Council
President.
Roger is very proud of his
Sperry High School education, friends and classmates. He
attributes receiving this honor to his strong principles,
faith, and examples set by his parents, Jim and Joyce
DeMuth.
